Concise Working Principle of Automatic Thread Trimming for Direct Drive Sewing Machines

The automatic thread trimming function of direct drive sewing machines relies on the precise coordination of three core components: the main control board, high-performance direct drive servo motor and precision trimming mechanism. When the operator triggers the command via a dedicated foot pedal position or the control panel button, the electrical signal is instantly transmitted to the main control board-the "brain" of the machine. The board then issues accurate instructions to the direct drive servo motor, which is directly coupled to the machine spindle without belt transmission, thus eliminating power loss caused by belt slip. The servo motor outputs stable and precise power, which is smoothly transmitted to the trimming mechanism through precision gears and connecting rods. This power drives the moving knife to first hook the upper and lower threads firmly, then slightly tension the threads to avoid slipping during cutting, and finally cooperate with the fixed knife to shear the threads neatly. After the trimming process is completed, the servo motor reverses to drive the trimming mechanism, needle bar and presser foot to reset to the preset standby position. The integrated direct drive structure not only ensures low power consumption and fast response speed, but also guarantees high trimming precision and ultra-low operating noise, ultimately realizing efficient and reliable automatic thread cutting without manual intervention.
